Duties: This position would be responsible for the acquisition and editing of between 20 and 30 titles per year. The editorial process includes working with authors on manuscript development, editing manuscripts for prose, grammar, punctuation, etc, and copyediting and proofreading of manuscripts, as needed. Concepting cover images, writing cover copy, and assisting in the production of marketing and sales materials are also major components of the position. In addition, this position would include acquisition, assisting upper level staff, and a role in the development of various properties either from existing materials or generating new ideas in-house.

Requirements: We are looking for someone with knowledge of everything from picture books to tween, series and single titles, paperback and hardcover, literary and commercial fiction. However, primary areas of experience should be series publishing, individual chapter books and middle-grade novels. While picture book experience is nice, it is not a requirement.
