Books for Babies Project
Students begin the project by researching the importance of early literacy and collecting evidence to present in letters to new parents. Next, each child selects a title from the Scholastic book club flyer to include in a welcome package for parents and babies — delivered through the local hospital.
In the end, we created a project that hit all of my requirements:we research and closely read, use our argumentative writing skills, give back to our community, share our love of reading, and have fun along the way. (edu@scholastic)
