Welcome to a review of
LETTERS OF IMAGINATION
A silent auction at the 2005 American Library Association Conference

LETTERS OF IMAGINATION logo The Letters of Imagination auction was a tremendous success both in the energy and good will it generated and the money it earned. Those of you who attended ALA know how excited everyone was to see the amazing diversity of the contributed work.

Contributors included nine Caldecott Medalists, other award-winning artists, and many newer talents—nearly 150 original letters of the alphabet in total. Every piece in the auction was bid on, earning over $42,000.

Letters of Imagination was presented by the Children's Book Council in cooperation with the Exhibits Round Table auction at the ALA conference. The net income will go primarily to the ALA scholarship fund. CBC literacy programs will also benefit.

The art was so terrific we've left it online for a while for those who may not have seen it or others, like us, who enjoy revisiting it.
