This list is intended as a general guide to members of the Children's Book Council. Members are listed in alphabetical order. Please note that when a publisher's name is also a person's name (e.g., Margaret K. McElderry Books), it is alphabetized by the last name rather than the first name. Each member's listing contains the following information:
- Company name, address, general telephone number, and Web site when applicable.
- Representatives-of-Record: Please note that the Representatives-of-Record are not necessarily the contacts to whom
manuscripts should be sent. Please see the submission tips below for further information.
- A brief description of each member's publishing program, including:
- Age: The ages for which books are published. This is divided into four basic categories: Preschool, 0 - 5; Elementary, 5-8; Middle Grade, 8-12; and Young Adult, 12+.
- Genre: The genres published. This is divided into two basic categories: Fiction and Nonfiction. This list does not address specific genres such as humor, science fiction, mysteries, etc.
- Format: The basic formats of books published. This is divided into three basic categories: Board Books, heavily illustrated books generally fewer than 32 pages long and made of durable cardboard stock targeted primarily at preschoolers; Picture Books, heavily illustrated books generally 32 or 48 pages long; and Novels, books over 32 pages long with few or no illustrations.
- Further Description: Includes whether a member publishes hardcover books, paperback books, and/or e-books; total number of titles published per year; and any special lines (including imprints, series, foreign language titles, etc.).
